The state of social care in England 2004-05

On 13 December 2005, the Commission for Social Care Inspection (CSCI) published its first report to Parliament on the state of social care services in England. The report uses the findings from inspections and assessment actvity to describe the state of social care in England. Informed throughout by the views of people who use services, the report looks at what is working well and key areas that need to be addressed in order to realise the Government’s vision for the future role of social care, under the headings Putting people first; Social care expenditure; Workforce and trends; Availability and quality of social care services; Commissioning quality services.
